Today we met Mustafa from Turkey. Our guest will spend in Petrozavodsk a month and he decided to take One-on-One Russian course at our School.
Last Friday Pauliina, Sarah and Edward finished their courses of the Russian language in Petrozavodsk. Talking about the progress in Russian we cannot help saying that it is significant and our student have greatly improved their communicative skills. You can read their feedback here. Last Friday Pauliina, Sarah and Edward finished their courses of the Russian language in Petrozavodsk.   Tatyana is taking part in the program “Russian + Internship”. She will study Russian for one more week and then start her internship. Last week our guests enjoyed the performance at the Theatre and also had a trip to Shotzero which is a vebsky village. In addition to that they had a National Food Party where they presented their homeland dishes. Everything was very tasty :)

Our foreign students are faring very well! Their first week in Russia has come to its end, but new experiences are most likely to stay with them forever. Russian language skills of our guests have obviously improved thanks to fruitful classes, interesting excursions, various entertainments, and of course communication with native speakers. Needless to say that everything is in Russian! They have seen films, presented their native countries, visited Dolls’ house and the Museum of Regional. The weekends our guests have spent with their host families walking around Petrozavodsk and taking pictures of local sights and nature. One can expect that the second week is going to be still more fabulous than the first. Enjoy Russian and Russia!

Our students of “Enjoy Russian” had their first class of Russian in the morning. They showed really good basis and are eager to learn Russian and practice it with Russian people. That is why today they are going to explore amazing winter Petrozavodsk with volunteers.
 The frosty weather came to our city and it is almost minus 30 degrees over here! We remind winter travelers that they should put on very warm clothes when travelling to Eastern Europe. A popular accessory in this season is the traditional Russian-style fur hat with ear flaps. These hats are designed to protect the wearer's head and ears from the bitter cold weather.

Last Saturday students finished their courses of the Russian language and promised to come back. They are always welcomed in Russia and Petrozavodsk! Guys said that they really liked the city and the whole program. You can read their feedback here.
  Real Russian winter has started in Petrozavodsk. Approximately -10 C and it is very sunny in the streets. In winter Karelia provides great opportunities for active tourism. Local citizens love this part of the winter time: skiing, ice skating, snowboarding, dog sledding, snowmobiling, horse riding and a lot of other amazing things to do!
 We are looking forward to see our students in February! Sarah, Pauliina, Tatyana and Edward are coming at the beginning of the month and will be learning Russian language in intensive mini-group and individually. We still accept the applications for the Russian language course in this spring! The new week has started and we are happy to make a report about our students who are spending their great time in Petrozavodsk.
   Last Monday new students Sonja and Viktor attended the guided city tour around Petrozavodsk. Russian students showed beautiful places, landscapes, buildings and so on. Also all students went to the rock climbing center and had a great time there. New emotions and experience are guaranteed!
  Next day after Russian classes Kylah, Austin and Anita (the Russian supporter) had an excursion at the Museum of Regional. Also Sonja – student from Finland, asked the Enjoy Russian School if it is possible to arrange the visit to a Russian banya. Of course, we made all the arrangements. A popular tradition in the Russian culture is the bathhouse or banya. It involves steam, high heat, cold, and an invigorating beating with birch leaves and branches.
Last Sunday guys went to the bowling club with Russian students and mastered their Russian language skills. The huge advantage of the course is that you can talk to Russians here all the time and practice it in day-to-day situations. You can take an adventure to Russia and get a lot of benefits from it. Austin and Kylah spent their first week in Russia. This week was full of events. Russian volunteers do their best to make our guests feel at home. They visited Kondopoga town and enjoyed skating there; also they went to the cinema and watched a Russian movie at School. You see that our students have a full language immersion, which will help them to improve Russian skills a lot!
   Today we welcome two more people who come to Petrozavodsk to study Russian at “Enjoy Russian” language school! Viktor came from Switzerland and Sonja is from our neighbor country Finland. They have chosen intensive Russian course in the mini-group. Hope that the next 2 weeks will be great and the students will enjoy the time in Karelia. This week we prepare such activities like presentation about Karelia and Russia, rock climbing, excursion to the museum of Regional, and bowling!

Hurrah! New Year is here! The weather is wonderful; the air is so fresh and frosty. Kylah and Austin (our first students this year) will walk around the most remarkable places of Petrozavodsk with our volunteers. As soon as this week is a holiday week in the whole Russia our guests will enjoy spending time with Russian youth, going to cafes, watching a Russian movie and learning more about Russian culture and traditions.

  Russians have a lot of traditions related to NY celebration. In January we are waiting for our students to come and see this beautiful winter, to meet new friends and to improve their language skills.
